Single Anastomosis Duodeno-Ileal Bypass with Sleeve Gastrectomy (SADI-S)

SADI-S is one of the most powerful metabolic and weight loss operations available today. It combines a sleeve gastrectomy with a single intestinal bypass, producing exceptional weight loss while offering excellent improvement in obesity-related medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, etc.

The operation begins by performing a sleeve gastrectomy, creating a smaller stomach that helps patients feel full with less food. The first portion of the small intestine is then connected farther downstream using a single connection, allowing food to bypass a significant portion of the intestine. This results in decreased calorie absorption while producing powerful hormonal changes that improve metabolism and blood sugar regulation.

Compared with the traditional duodenal switch, SADI-S uses only one intestinal connection, simplifying the operation while maintaining outstanding long-term outcomes, with many patients experiencing 70-80% excess weight loss. SADI-S may be particularly beneficial for patients with high BMI (>50) and severe metabolic disease or for those patients needing revision after sleeve gastrectomy.

Because SADI-S creates greater intestinal bypass than many other procedures, patients must commit to lifelong vitamin supplementation and routine laboratory monitoring to prevent nutritional and vitamin deficiencies.

During your consultation, your surgeon will discuss your medical history and weight-loss goals to determine whether SADI is the best operation for you.
